750 ml bottle, purchased at 7-11 Kittery, ME. Aroma is a mix of unfinished leather, chemicals and bug killer (like Raid)
Do you think the aroma sounds bad?? Yeah, well the flavor is just as bad as the aroma. The Brett gives a real chemical note that is just flat out disgusting. No, really vile. I’m really pissed because I ended up buying two bottles of this overly Brett train wreck of a beer. Buyer beware because this is a total drained pour. Couldn’t stomach more then three sips.

Fresh, 2015 bottles drunk July and August 2015.
A lightly hazy deep copper-sunset orange liquid has an off-white head atop, full and well-retained.
Clean, lightly fruity yeast mixes with a touch of citrus and bare, bready malts. The actual pine is well-done and not overdone, adding a perfumey spruce nose, much like a freshly installed christmas tree. Dry, orange marmalade-like notes linger on the end with no alcohol or flaw.
Big spruce tip flavor up front is joined by light honey malt flavors, showing good balance, with a moderate, tight carbonation giving a nearly creamy mouthfeel. Light pine and a plethora of citrus flavors through the middle (orange rind, marmalade, white grapefruit), ending on some mildly sweet, bready malt notes and more of the perfume-like, sprucey pine. Certainly a unique/interesting beer, and while the acidity isn’t a problem, there’s still a bone dry astringency from the spruce that isn’t 100% enjoyable for me. Still, the beer is well-attenuated and clean and obviously well-brewed. Lots of marmalade and pine on the finish gets a bit monotonous.

This was poured into a pilsener.
The appearance was a hazy yellow color with a two to three finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Clingy messy lacing roamed around the glass.
The smell started off with a sweet to moderately hopped grassy (semi-bitter) hoppiness leading into light biscuity tones balancing all about.
The taste was moderately sweet with a nice balance of grassy hops. There’s a light semi-sweet biscuity to grassy aftertaste running into a sweet biscuity/grassy finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation definitely runs light on the body.
Overall, nice German pilsener that I would have again.

Bottle from Bert’s Slightly hazy deep straw color with a good sized bubbly bone white head that shows great retention. aromas of crackery pilsner malt a bit of sweet bread some toast and a touch of spicy floral hops. The flavor leans a bit towards the malt side of things with a solid bready lightly toasted maltiness. Spicy earthy hops provide a nice balance. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Nice approachable easy drinking pilsner.

The appearance was a decent looking semi-hazy orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds. Light stringy lacing slid into the beer.
The smell started off with a light tropical citrus to a light pine.
The taste copied the smell leading into the aftertaste and a dry bitter finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable sticky bitterness over my tongue.
Overall, this was a pretty good IPA, might not be one to go with food, but I’d have again.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Brian for this night ender! Clear yellow, thin lasting head. Aroma is stale lager yeast, weak grain or dare I say corn?
Mouthfeel is very much a Macro lager. Funky lager yeast, and the old hop profile. Lighter, thin texture but it does have a crispness to it. Well, they did get the cheap lager taste down to the letter. Not sure what else I can say other than Brian said we should add a lime. Yes the lime did give some complexity.

On tap at Novare Res, Portland, Maine. A clear, dark golden beer with a dense off-white head leaving some lacing. It’s rather hoppy on the nose, pine cones, grapefruit and some citrus zest. Low on malts, both in aroma and flavor. Grapefruit, pine cones, citrus zest and a good bitterness in the flavor. Full body and a nice carbonation level. Lasting hop forward finish. Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus, grape, orange, peach and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long slightly warm, orange, citrus and peach finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle @ home, thanks to Lukaduke for sending! Pours a deep brown / black appearance with a brown head. The aroma is cold brewed coffee, chocolate, some earth, moderate bitterness. Medium full body. Really nice coffee flavor. A little roasty and burnt. Moderate bitterness and sweetness. Well balanced. A little bit of earth. Drinks pretty good.

Bottle from Bier Cellar Portland. Pours a lightly hazy deep golden color with a huge fluffy white head that shows great retention.Earthy herbal citrus with a beady backdrop. Moderate carbonation and bitterness. Decent IPA I would never turn one down.
