Description
Definitive Brewing was formed in 2017 when we came across lightning in a (beer) bottle. After months of planning, we were introduced to our now Director of Brewing Operations, and found an ideal location, all in a single week. Our investment group is made up of friends and family all with ties to Lake Cobbosseecontee in Manchester, ME. After 6 months of tireless efforts to transform an old scaffolding company into a production brewery and tasting room, we opened May 19, 2018 on the legendary Industrial Way.

After two years of operation in Portland, our team chose to open a second tasting room on May 22nd, 2020 in Maine's southernmost town, Kittery in the heart of the shopping district. Kittery is pillar in Maine's food and beverage scene, and the opportunity to become part of this phenomenal town was one that we could not pass up.

At Definitive Brewing we strive to provide a memorable tasting room experience for all of our customers. This is culminated by our wide variety of beers, including our Kolsch (Contee), Session Ales, IPAs, Stouts and Sours! Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you soon!

Can at home and day 17 of my brew cavern advent. Black colour with a big giant tan head. Livly and gassy. Rich chocolate and sweet. And coffee some coconut. Full body.

16 oz. can. Flavor is straw, honey, subtle Saaz like hop. Ends mostly clean. Maybe a bit grainy in texture. Light bodied, crisp refreshing hop. Exactly as it should be. Quality yet again from this brewery.

Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, and marshmallow. Taste follows with a nice roasty quality. Sweet but not cloying.

16 oz can. Aroma is lime peel, bready malts and tangerine. Flavor has a mild bread malt backbone with an array of fruit. Lemon, grapefruit, lime peel. Really vibrant flavors for an under 6% pale ale. Crushable.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, good cream colour head. Airy smooth palate, decent fine minerally carbonation emerging late on. Fluffy malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Soft cooling pine hops into creamy orange citrus, almost vanilla. Tastes a little like Lotus hops? There is brighter juicier citrus well buried but adding dimension. Slightly candy mango and guava lurk about. A mild citrus peel bitter edge. Long fruity linger. Hmmm! Intriguing. First couple of gob fulls I was quite underwhelmed, thinking another overpriced underperforming US import but, then it opened up to me and I ended up really enjoying the contrasting character in this one.

Pours hazed gold into a tulip. Off-white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Mango and passion fruit aromas. Soft with mango and papaya upfront turning to dried apricot and guava in the medium length finish.

Aromas are cut grass, citrus and a bit of onion. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose with sweet dominating, citrus is strong also with some decent bitter in the finish. Overall pretty good.
