On tap at Cask and Vine. Dark brown/Black color with a decent sized tan head. Big chocolate and caramel on the nose with lots of spicy earthy pine hops to counter. Flavor is sweeter than I expected with a bigger malt presence than it should have. Big chocolate toffee and caramel with some earthy pine to counter. Big body mild carbonation. This didn’t work for me. The flavors are muddled, its too sweet and the hop bill clashes with the rest of the beer.

22 oz. bottle. With a 2/27/15. Cloudy gold /Amber color. Aroma is sweet grain, wheat and a strange buttered corn hint. The flavor has an overly sweet, strange grain flavor. Cloying to boot! What the hell is this suppose to be? Drinkable but barely.

Dark brown, almost no head. Nose is weird. It’s sweet like cheap candy, corn, caramel and maple syrup. man, this one is tough. sweet, I get a light bitterness, Not a fan.

Bottled 10/27/14... so almost 4 months old... Pours deep amber into a tulip. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sour, stale biscuit aromas. Dry with rotted dark fruit, stale licorice, and chocolate covered manure. As others have observed, I should have checked freshness - this stuff does not age well... and it must take a steep dive, because this was nasty...

22 oz. bottle purchased at Cigarette City. Deep dirty brown in color with thin head. Aroma is burnt caramel, ashy chocolate and tar.
Flavor is dirty caramel, earthy malt, with subtle campfire notes. The mouthfeel has a chewy yeast / maybe oatmeal flake chewiness giving a fuller body. Thankfully the smoke is mild and does help in the balance of the sweeter chocolate and earthy flavors. I really don’t normally like smoked brews but this kind of works. Still it would be better to split this then try and tackle the whole bottle yourself.

Bottle from Craft Beer Cellar Nashua. Solid dark brown color with a good sized long lasting mocha head. Light smokey chocolatey roasty aroma with a hint of earth. The flavor is rich chocolate and caramel with a bit of roast and a complimentary smokiness that isn’t overpowering like some smoked porters. Medium body, moderate carbonation and a creamy silky mouthfeel. Really nice porter.

The nicest character of this brew is the effervescent mouthfeel and refreshing crisp finish. The taste is exactly as the aroma implies. I also enjoy the zesty yeast element that lingers throughout the sip. Overall much better then I anticipated for such a simple style.

12 oz can from Bert’s Pours a cloudy lemon straw color with a decent sized bubbly bone white head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of spicy earthy bready malts with a touch of lemon and spice. Sweet bready maltiness with a solid spicing from actual spices as well as the wheat malt, some light citric fruit and some earthy almost funky yeastiness. Medium to light body with a moderate to high level of carbonation. Decent enough brew, light a flavorful. Not my go to style, but I could see this on a warm day.
