Bottle. Pitch black color.with lasting off white head with some lace. Aroma is mostly smoke with chocolate hiding underneath. The bacon comes off completly like smoke. ( I was really hoping of salty and oily texture but... NO! ) The body is decent, fuller side. Flavor, charred malts, weak chocolate, moderate smoke, some charred grain. Smoke lingers a tad after the sip.

650 ml bottle purchased at Craft Beer Cellar. Orange in color with lasting head and legs. Aroma is indeed cantaloupe, or maybe that is implied and its just flat out melon, hints of some type of hop. Flavor is melon pulp base, weak honey and shows a grainy texture. Well, this is exactly as the Brewer description says it is. Light easy summer sipping fruit brew.

Bottle from The Drinkery Derry Solid dark amber/ brown color with a decent sized bubbly tan head that shows moderate retention. Big caramel brown sugary chocolate on the nose with hints of earthy spicy phenols. The flavor follows the aroma quite well! Sugary caramel with hints of chocolate maltiness. Light earth and spice flavors to counter. Medium full body, silky almost creamy mouthfeel with a moderate level of carbonation. That is a pretty tasty Dubbel right there.

On tap tonight at the distributor showdown at Cask and Vine. slightly hazy deep straw/light golden color with a decent off white head. Rich bready malt with bits of fruit and light peppery earthy spicy. Deceptively smooth for the abv, nice tripel

Bottle from the Drinkery Derry. Slightly hazy light golden color with a smallish white head. Huge melon on the nose with a sweet bready maltiness and hints of earthy hop aroma to counter. The flavor is big melon as well and bit of a bitter toffee that kind of clashes with the other flavors a bit too much. Medium body with a moderate carbonation. I really dug the melon aroma, but felt the malt was a bit too strong in the flavor to let the fruit shine through. Dial back the crystal malt a bit and this would be fantastic.
