Sample pour at the source. Dark black in color with a thin tan head that slowly dissipates. Rich roasty chocolate roast and caramel with an earthy hop to counter. Plenty of oak tannin, bourbon, vanilla, and just a hint of lactic cherry. Great sipper.

Pours a thick, dark, oily black, with smallish tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma has loads of chocolate, some licorice, coffee, and dark fruits. Flavor is chocolate, licorice, vanilla, coffee. The peppers are certainly present and only develop some heat after repeated sips--they don't over-dominate the flavor, but really help to bring it out. It's pretty sweet, with a soft, bull mouthfeel. Touch of pepper at the finish. This is a really well-done beer.

Can, courtesy of Leighton. Cheers boss. Pours fairly thick, chestnut brown, that settles nearly black. Fine tan head. Nose has fruity dark chocolate. Peppery spice. Chilli chocolate. Rich toffee and coffee malt. Light cinnamon. Taste is a little sweet and toffee like, with some soft, peppery bitterness. Smooth on the palate, drinking well under the ABV. Light, ear tingling chilli heat. Low carbonation. Spicy chocolate to finish. Nicely done.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from the brewery. Pours black-brown with a frothy, beige head. Really good fun, cohesive, with moderate sweetness, some chewy chocolate, restrained but present chilli kick, nips of cinnamon. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. A healthy bit of chilli burn in the throat, further semi-sweet cocoa, background roast. Really solid.

Canned, 473 ml at Brewdog Cardiff. Unclear yellow, white head. Fruity, bit resinous, smooth. Sweetish. Lacks aroma, probably a bit old. Medium bodied.

Can at home in Hackney - many thanks to the fam. Sourced from the brewery. Pours opaque orange-gold with a frothy, pure white head. Juicy, soft, well rounded, with supportive pale malts, relaxed bitterness, pale bread, a little sweetness, tangerine, melon, orange. Medium bodied with delicate carbonation and pillowy texture. Nicely balanced finish, further lightly sweet citrus, supportive pale bread, touches of rindy bitterness. Excellent.

440 ml can bought from BrewDog Leicester, drunk at home. Light to mid-golden, completely hazy with a thin ring of white head. Apricot, pineapple juice, melon in the aroma. Sweet in the mouth, but there is a touch of tonic water astringency. Short finish, with light notes of peach in the aftertaste. Heavily carbonated. Decent overall.

Tap. Farmhouse Tap and Grill, Burlington, VT. Fully hazy, deep orange. Super sticky, messy, white head. Nose is big on the pulpy citrus. Jellied fruit. Touch of pine. Creamy malt. Taste follows suit really. Juicy and pulpy bittersweet. Medium body. Foamy carbonation. Light, juicy bitterness to finish. Fresh and juicy. Nice.
