Canned 06/04/2025, drunk 06/29/2025.
Clear, pale-blonde-golden. Large, frothy, rocky, white head.
Not nearly as papery/tannic/grainy as most Belgian "pilsners". Not that I expected Schilling would make a bad one, even if the style kind of sucks. Dainty honey, light pepper, a hint of grain and paper (just enough to establish the style). Clean.
Spot-on for the style with peppery, French-like hops giving earth, herb and pepper. More body than usual, but that's just bc Schilling doesn't suck. Honey, cracker, paper, biscuit.
I think this is one of the worst styles, with that piece of shit commercial Belgian pils being ubiquitous. But Schilling, of course, does the best they can and succeeds mightily, with excellent malt depth and a healthy hop bitterness with fresh herbal notes lingering.

Pours deep, clear mahogany into a willi. White head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Caramel and golden syrup aromas. Crisp with sweet caramel, molasses and earthy toasted multigrain front to back. Lasting, earthy spice finish.

More smoke upfront than anything else I've had from US breweries, nice Chocolatey malty notes that linger on the finish.

Can from the Packie
Lightly hazy deep yellow color with a thin white head that persists.
Lightly sour smokey earthy floral maltiness with hints of earthy spicy hops to counter. Odd brew but one of the best I've tried for the style.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear brown with a somewhat transient tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate but there's a Tmavy note. Med body. Malty but fairly dry. Moderately bitter. Flavor matches the aroma. Good schwarz.

16oz can from Tavour. Opaque, dark brown pour, small foamy sand colored head. A hint of smoke hits at the opening of the can, light roast and subtle chocolate notes. Taste is all about the smoke, ashy, smoky, roasty, with some mild sweet chocolate notes. Light smoky bitterness lingers. So delicious!

Pours a brilliant light gold color with a bubbly white head that persists. Earthy spice hop aroma and flavor with a firm crackery malt base. Really nice lager.

Pours clear, pale yellow into a willi. Bright white soapy head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Coriander and sweet meadow aromas. Crisp with earthy meadow, coriander and dusty funk upfront turning to bitter pith in the medium length finish.
