Aroma: It has a subtle nose of caramel, orange, floral notes
Appearance: It pours a caramel color with lots of lace
Flavor: The taste is well-balanced, good citrus/caramel feel
Palate: It is smooth, with a softish carbonation, light body
Overall Impression: This was a great looking beer, and its solid enough elsewhere. The nose is rather weak, and, in my opinion, that is the worst thing about this beer. Otherwise, the other aspects of it are decent enough, but it isn't anything special.

Aroma: The nose is light, with some grassy hops, some pine and floral notes
Appearance: It pours a hazy orange color with a small head and medium lace
Flavor: It has a lightly malty and lightly hoppy flavor, with not a whole lot going on...
Palate: The body is light-medium, a little sticky, and slightly abrupt with a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: Sometimes I like to give a re-rate with a bottle to something I had on draft (or vice versa). For this one, I actually lowered the score, because this bottle made me feel this was a straight 3 beer...3.0: 6/3/6/3/13 Ultimately, I went 3.1 (13 Overall), but only because it may just be a drop better then a 3.0, and I had it at a 3.3 the first time, so that 3.1 is a sort of average for me.

Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, with a short bitter finish
Palate: It has an alright mouthfeel, but the finish is a bit abrupt
Overall Impression: Thus beer could round-out better, but it was solid overall. Not a stand-out IPA, but a drinkable one. Original Score: 3.3: 7/4/6/3/13

Bottle thanks to travita. Pours with a small, off-white head and a bronze body. Aroma of dust, caramel, fruity esters. Taste is fruity, dusty, raisins. Light bubbles.

From a sixpack that was a gift! Smell is not nessy spicy but the first taste is somewhat cinnamon er something. Has a decently cloudy darker color. Appears to be trying to become a holiday classic but not too hard. Not rude by any extrent but does have that typocal spice rudeness so common in these holiday beers. I hate these laptops. Orange peel is not tastable. It you don’t like the way they roll them in the city....... Does have some old ale attributes that can be appriciated. Overall, just another spicy beer.

Overall Impression: Nothing much to add to this one, the rating sticks just where I had it from the bottle sampling previously.
October 2009 Beer of the Month Club, 11/13/09
Aroma: The aroma has some nutty flavors, lots of bread, a bit of chocolate, toffee, and some light fruitiness
Appearance: Pours a clear brownish-red color with a small tan head with minimal retention and lace
Flavor: Taste is has nutty malts, a bit of fruitiness, some caramel, toffee and earthy hops
Palate: The mouthfeel is decent, though a drop on the thin side, smooth and drinkable
Overall Impression: I would definitely avoid serving this one freezing cold. I know that this disclaimer should not really be necessary, but some of the other review seem to indicate to me that they drank this beer to cold, as it has no aroma at that point. However, once it warms it becomes a relatively aromatic brew. Beyond the nose, it is a pretty decent beer, heavy on the malty characteristic with a bit of hops to give the appearance of a balance that really isn't there.
Overall Impression: Nothing much to add to this one, the rating sticks just where I had it from the bottle sampling previously.

Overall Impression: Not much to add rating stays the same, and the descrition was pretty spot on previously...Basically the same on draft as it was bottled.

Appearance: Pours a clear, light golden color with almost no head
Flavor: Grainy flavor, light hops and a not so nice corny aftertaste
Palate: Its pretty carbonated, light body, but it does have a crisp mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This beer is a pretty boring light lager. Not much else to say about it beyond that. The aftertaste distracts from it a bit, the palate is pretty decent for the style, but other then that nothing stands out on this one.

Bottle at the RB Rochester Gathering, Sept. 09. Thanks, JB. Orange-amber color. Aroam of caramel, chocolate, and dried fruit. Caramel-sweet malty flavor; a bit too sweet. Decent and full-flavored but lacks great balance.

Draft at PA Spring Fest. Cloudy orange-brown color, nice head. Smooth and malty, with some deeper tones than your typical lager. Very nice, perfect session beer, but also enjoyable enough to sip slowly on. Not much hop presence. I think it was better the first time I had it, when the yeast was shaken about the keg.

Draft at PA Spring Fest. Filtered orange-brown color. Mellow smooth brown malt aroma. Balanced, medium bodied, lots of nutty flavor. Pretty well done. Malt really carries the beer. Delicate on the palate.

This 2008 vintage (courtesy of Beerman6686, thanks again) pours deep clear amber with thin tan head. The aroma is a bit boozy, to be expected considering the youth of the beer and its ABV, followed by prunes, cherry compote and some sticky malts. The taste is full and rich with prunes, figs, cherries and a full load of malts and roast. To midway it gets a little grape jam like and sends this into richer and more complex territory. I get mild caramel rolling around in the background too. This is going to be frikin’ amazing with more time on the shelf (in fact, I’m putty this back onto my “wants” list). Plenty yum now.
