Bottle (from hetbiermoment). Pours brownish with beige head. Aroma is sweet, grains, malt, booze, lagerish. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, grains, more lagerish notes, caramel, some fruits, booze, somewhat mashy also. Overall: not bad, but feels bit more like ESL (Euro Strong Lager), than proper quad type of thingy.

Bottle, 10% courtesy Steffen. Very dark brown with tiny tan head. Aroma is light roasted malt, grainy whiskey, little vanilla, caramel, little chocolate, oak, little oxidised and wood. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, oak, wood, little vanilla, toasted, little oxidised and sweet.

Bottle, 8.5% courtesy of Steffen. Hazy golden with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, oak, vanilla, notes of white wine. Flavour is malt, notes of white wine, oak, wood, medium sweet, vanilla and whiskey.

Flesje gedeeld door Benzai en geprobeerd met Inoven. Het is licht troebele goudkleurig bier met weinig schuim. Aroma is wat fruitig met in de verte de geur van hout. Smaak fruitig en whisky achtig..

Flesje gedeeld door Benzai en gedronken met TomHendriksen. Goudgeel, licht troebel bier met weinig schuim. Aroma is fruitig en houtachtig. Smaak is zoet en fruitig. De smaak van de whisky komt duidelijk naar voren. Smaak ebt snel weg.

Bottle @ TomHendriksen’s birthday party shared with TomHendriksen and Inoven. Clear a bit pale yellow golden color, average sized white to off-white head. Aroma is malts, light whiskey. Taste malts, metallic, one dimensional and actually quite boring. Meh.

van fles, schenkt gouden met witte kraag. aroma is fris, zeepsop, zoet, alcohol, citrus. Smaken zijn wat aan de dunne kant, wat waterig zelfs, alcohol, matig zoet, citrus, appels, wat een vreemde smaken met die Springbank zeg, zeepsop, koriander of ander fris kruidigheid, hmmm weird, totaal geen barley wine zoals ik gewend ben, zwak tot matig bitter, valt mij wat tegen eigenlijk. --- Beer merged from original tick of Oak Aged Barley Wine 1996 Springbank on 18 May 2018 at 10:56 - Score: 6

Bottle @ home. Clear amber color, full sized quite creamy off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, nicely hoppy, quite citrussy. Tastes about the same: malts, hops, bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Decent enough but not very exciting and as an Imperial IPA, nah.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB oktober 2021, 33 cl sample. Almost clear golden color, short rim of lacing. Aroma of vanilla and oak from whisky, slight grainy malt (from the whisky) and a little bit of high fusels resulting in some mashed apples as well. Quite alcoholic in taste, mashed apples, bit sweetness, oak, booze. Beer doesnt show too much of itself. Whisky is not overdone though, but the beer itself could use more power and complexity. Wants to be a La Trappe oak aged Quad like, but just not there yet.

Bottle @ tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. A bit hazy yellow color, small to average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, decently bitter, lightly hayish. Ok body and carbonation. Ok beer.
