Dull garnet colour with no head and large bubbles. Heavy bubblegum and light florals & raisins. Thinnish body for style. Vague phenols on the palate, some flat malts...this really didn’t translate to the bottle much. Ap 2 Ar 5 Fl 4 P 2 O 7 = 2.0

Cloudy deep amber,small beige head.Nose of dark fruit,bubblegum. Yeasty start,bubblegum,plums, medium hop finish. Too much yeast presence for a dubbel

In practice, this beer was never as good as it was during the testing stage when I first had it. The current review reflects where the beer has basically been for most of its existence. Dark brown. Has a chocolate note, soft body, touch of sweetness but is actually a bit thin in the finish. Ok example

Looks great - pitch black, nice head. Rich roasty aroma with chocolate, hints of nuts and muscovado sugar. Full, creamy body...just a gorgeous mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Chocolatey, lightly roasty, with light cream notes. Goes down so softly, but with complexity and balance. One of those beers you intend to drink two of but end up drinking ten of. 9 - 5 - 8- 4- 17 = 4.3

Pours without too much in the realm of the head. It has a really dark opper colour going for it. Smells totally sweet, like caramel. The flavour is for me really hard to describe, mostly because it is unlike most beers that I have ever had. I mean it is like sweet and all and pretty full. I think that it is good stuff overall... would drink it again I suppose.

Bottle from BC Liquor store. Amber/red colour with thin head. Moderate grapefruit hoppiness throughout. I quite like the malt/hop balance. Some toffee, but otherwise pretty average.

On tap at Stella’s Tap and Tapas Bar. Gold with thin white head. Served with a slice of lemon. Slightly hoppy aroma, bit like a lager in mouth, overly carbonated, some cereal/wheat. Short finish. Dull if refreshingly cold.

Hazy reddish brown ale with floaties. The spices are still obvious here, with cinnamon and nutmeg (very x-mas) but strong lactic acid notes indicate infection. In mouth, a very vinagry brew, veering on a very bad Flemish sour, with arsh acrid notes, and light rubber. Bottle was about 6 months old.

An hazy amber ale with a thin creamy white head. A sweet butterscotch in aroma, with fruity esters. In mouth, a slightly oxidized malt with light floral hops, but being redeemed by some nice raisiny notes. Medium bodied. Merci JM.

Bottle. Hazy amber, low amber head. Tart, sulphury roast aroma, some bread. Light bodied, flatish. Spicy and minerally flavors, bread, a hint of veggies. Not a harmonic brew.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a huge bubbly slightly off-white head with average retention. Aroma of sweet caramel malt is dominating. Taste is also quite sweet with a nice caramel presence and very subtle hops. Body is not full and this beer makes a nice session beer with more complexity then your average British ale.
