Pub in beautiful, Hillsborough, NC, focused on seasonal beer & food. Free, live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
Mystery Brewing Company is the world's first seasonal only brewery, and our Public House reflects that in the beers on tap and food on the menu.
Our food and beer rotate consistently. We have core four beers that we release each season (four in spring, four in summer, etc..), as well as a handful of one-time brews we make just for fun! We guarantee there's a beer for everyone on tap. Similarly, our menu changes based on what ingredients we can get at the farmers markets, what's in season, and what pairs well with our beers at the time! It's always a little different, but always delicious!
Sample at the Rhinegeist Rare Beer Fest 10/28/2017. Dark amberish-brown color with a thin light beige head that diminishes quickly to a wispy film. Patchy lacing. Malty aroma with yeast and dark fruit notes. Full-bodied with flavors of medicinal fruit, molasses, earthy yeast and malt. The finish is fruity with a fruit and yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.
4 week old pint > IPA A: Pours a clear rich gold with a sturdy thick head. Good retention, big bubbles and sheets of lace. S: Light sweet scent of mainly caramel and tangerine. T: Very bitter with orange pith and zest. A tart fruit note is all but swallowed up by the hop bitterness but opens up a bit as it warms, along with a resinous woody note. No sweetness. M: Light but not 4.0% light. Well carbonated but not overly so, with light resin on an otherwise clean dry finish. O: Nice surprise. As a hop water fan, I certainly like this enough to buy again.
Draft at Sour Barn bash 2016. Hazy golden amber color. Basil and blackberries are up front in the aroma. taste has soflty sour fruit with light spice. Very tasty.
