About
Pub in beautiful, Hillsborough, NC, focused on seasonal beer & food. Free, live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Mystery Brewing Company is the world's first seasonal only brewery, and our Public House reflects that in the beers on tap and food on the menu.

Our food and beer rotate consistently. We have core four beers that we release each season (four in spring, four in summer, etc..), as well as a handful of one-time brews we make just for fun! We guarantee there's a beer for everyone on tap. Similarly, our menu changes based on what ingredients we can get at the farmers markets, what's in season, and what pairs well with our beers at the time! It's always a little different, but always delicious!

Pint can stamped best by 9/7/2016 into a stange. A: Gentle our yields minimal head, quickly dropping to a ring. Medium gold color with slight haze and busy carbonation. S: Very bready, doughy, yeasty and grassy. Pils-y smell. T: Grainy, yeasty and slightly woody. M: Light body with low carbonation. A bit watery with a tart finish. O: Not bad but seems more like a petit saison than a blonde ale. Inoffensive is just about the highest compliment I can think of.

Pint can not date coded but assumed reasonably fresh since it’s a summer seasonal. Pils glass. A: Almost clear burnt orange with a small well retaining off-white head. A few bubbles seen. Ahh, the remainder of the pour contained all the sediment. So not clear but quite hazy. S: Sweetish citrus and rich toffee scent. Mainly orange and a bit of pine. T: Orange zest and pith with an earthy hop note too. Toasted almost roasty brown bread. M: Medium weight with just enough carbonation. Slight resin on otherwise clean medium finish. O: I think this does a pretty good job of fusing English and American styles. Not a citrus bomb nor a dirt bomb. Good try.

From a 22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a quckly receding off white head. Vinous nose. Flavors of red wine, oak and vanilla. Smooth finish. Lots going on, but not well balanced.

A dark brown stout with a thick brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with peated notes, light pepper corn, light lemony notes, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with peated notes, light chili, coffee grind, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. Bottle at OttBottShare April 2016.

Draft at Churchkey. Hazy golden amber color, see pic with menu for verification. Aroma of sour overripe summer fruit, dusty pepper. Taste is tart herbal peppery fruit. Did not expect the sourness, in fact I asked the server to confirm it was the right beer, and it was. Tasty though.
