About
Pub in beautiful, Hillsborough, NC, focused on seasonal beer & food. Free, live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Mystery Brewing Company is the world's first seasonal only brewery, and our Public House reflects that in the beers on tap and food on the menu.

Our food and beer rotate consistently. We have core four beers that we release each season (four in spring, four in summer, etc..), as well as a handful of one-time brews we make just for fun! We guarantee there's a beer for everyone on tap. Similarly, our menu changes based on what ingredients we can get at the farmers markets, what's in season, and what pairs well with our beers at the time! It's always a little different, but always delicious!

Sample in a flight at the Craft Growler Shop. Black, with a small, tan head. The aroma is immediately bittersweet chocolate and coffee, with notes of molasses, and cinnamon. Medium body, sticky, and clingy. Overall, this is a pretty nice Irish stout, with minimal toasty bitterness.

First off, this is categorised wrong - this is a sour/wild ale, not a brown ale. Rich lightish brown coloured body with a nice copper and amber glow and a thinnish off-white head.Aroma of sour grapes, alcohol, funk, brett, yeast and bits of cherries - very nice and fruity. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong brett and yeast flavours up front with a lot of sour grape and cherry flavours noticeable. Some subdued alcohol and sugar flavours with a hint of fruits as well, very nice and complex for the style. Aftertaste shows the sour flavours along with some light malt notes, but the sweetness and alcohol persists - a very complex and mouthwatering beer from the brett and sour notes. Overall, a very nice and complex that you typically wouldn’t get from such a small producer; This one doesn’t hit hard from the malt and sweet elements, but a bit of flavours from all around make this interesting and complex - definitely nice to sample if you can get your hands on it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina on 02-August-2014 for US$13,99 sampled at home in Washington on Christmas Eve, 24-December-2014.
