Tasting at Andrey's; can
Murky pale blond colour, large head, like whipped eggwhites. It smells like a lemon ice cream. It's sharply sour, lemony, with smooth mouthfeel, and a bit of lemon sorbet finish.

(375ml bottle c/o Herbalist, thanks!) Pours somewhat hazy pink-red with a decent whitish head and lace. Aroma of fresh crushed montmorency cherries with a bright, juicy lightlly spicy cinnamon profile, rosehip is subtle and gives a floral vibe, moderately woody, lactic yoghurt undertones, hint of citrus, some dried leaves and soft wet funk. Flavour is light to moderate tart with a nice Montmorency core, softly sweet with cinnamon/spicebox, soft lactic and red berry notes, balanced dry wooden edges, rosehip is there but just because you're looking. Fresh mineral quality, nice slightly tannic drydown of barrel, fruit skins and rosehips, very subtle funk. Light tart fruity tannic aftertaste. Light to medium body with fairly high but smooth bottle condition carb. Elegant and well-put together, one of the best ON cherry beers I've had.

(355ml can from the webshop c/o Herbalist, thanks!) Pours deep brown with a small cream coloured head and spotty lace. Aroma of brown sugar and chocolate cake mix, vanilla, dried flowers, berry coulis, and a strange note I can't really place. Flavour is quite high tart lactic yoghurt with vanilla, chocolate, sour berries, cherry?, fruit vinegar, not much lactose sweetness, bracing sour berry candy acidity into the drying finish which has dusty chocolate and vanilla in the aftertaste. Lightish body, average carbonation. The impression of dessert on the nose didn't really carry forward onto the tongue; weird and intersting but for me a dessert sour needs to be a bit less acidic.

(375ml 2019 bottle from the webshop c/o Herbalist, thanks!) Pours nearly clear deep red wine purple with a small but stable pink head and lace. Aroma is nice and tart with lots of fresh-crushed blueberry and black currant, acidic red grapes and wine, light splash of fruit vinegar and lactic acid, plenty of wood and dried leaves. Flavour is pretty high tart and low sweetness, this is a very fruit forward beer but not a jammy one. Flavour of crushed blueberries and black currants, red wine vinegar, prominent oak barrel and berry skin tannin, some lactic blueberry yogurt bite in the middle of the sip, finishing dry and tart with lingering blueberry/black currant skins and dried leaves. Medium-full oily body with mouth-filling carbonation and no booze. The nose on this is bananas, probably the best-smelling blueberry beer I've encountered. The flavour is necessarily less stunning but this is a great drinker at 9%.

(375ml bottle from the webshop c/o Herbalist, thanks!) Pours nearly clear deep gold with a small but stable white head and lace. Aroma of bright intense lemon zest, juicy lactic lemon and natural white wine vibe, lots of dry tannic and almost musty oak, wet leaves and herbs lending lots of hard-to-place woodsy notes, feels like some complex light estery/funky yeast quality from the kveik, really intresting. Flavour is also a bit unusual, moderately tart with big lemon zest and juice, a touch of wine, lots of dry leafy herbs and savoury notes, dry tannic and astringent oak middle to finish. Ends dry with a tart lemon pucker and lots of oak and leaves in the aftertaste. Light to medium body with moussy bottle-conditioning carbonation. Very interesting brew, nice use of zest, some creative adjuncts and barrel to create a complex but refershing wild ale.

(355ml can from the webshop c/o Herbalist, thanks!) Pours lightly hazed bright pink-red with a small white head. Aroma of punchy tart red cherry flesh, candied lime zest, fresh fruity lightly dank Citra, a bit lactic, some floral overtones, vanilla is pretty subtle. Flavour has a nice balance of light tart and light sweet, nothing overboard, fresh and candied cherries, juicy lime, subtle honey sweetness, a dash of vanilla, nice dry hop vibes make it a bit tropical and leafy, very fresh sour IPA with the sweet-tart tailing off into a drier finish with lots of cherry and lime lingering on the tongue, some vanilla in the aftertaste. Light to medium crisp body with average plus carbonation. Damn I loved this, great balance of flavour and high drinkability. Wish for this in the summer sun during a (brief?) respite from the world of COVID-19.
