Description
Since opening our doors in October 2012, we have been working to bring new and exciting flavourful beers to our community. We like to experiment, be adventurous, and break old traditional brewing rules. As a result, we have made it our mission create a diverse product roster that includes deliciously easy drinking beers that everyone can appreciate as well as hard-to-find ales that leave a lasting impression. We’ve spent years developing a variety of audacious brews that are hoppier, fruitier, aged longer (and in weirder barrels), etc. Let’s put it this way, if we can go overboard on some element of beermaking, we generally will.

We take our passion beyond beer as well in a quest to ‘Live Indie’. From a spectacular and carefully curated house-made menu to lively events, we’ve turned our creative and individualistic brewing methods into a lifestyle that reflects our mantra of fun-loving independence.

We started off as a small, yet foolhardy bunch in a quaint and – we’ll admit – elementary brewpub located in Toronto’s West End. After several years of refining processes and working with a wonderfully dedicated team of beer lovers, we have been fortunate enough to grow our Junction-located brewpub and bottle shop into a bustling (albeit ambient and welcoming) space. We’ve also opened up a second brewing space, tasting room and bottle shop in partnership with Eataly at the heart of downtown Toronto. We’re grateful for how far we’ve come and we have no other goals but to keep on making bold beer and continue to serve excellence.

The bottom line is - we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to taste, enjoy, and have the choice of better food and better beer. It’s who we are. It’s why we’re here.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a nice fruity sweet malt with light orange peels. In mouth, a light sweet candy sugar with orange notes, ok.

Not a great package. Pours dark red with ok head and lacing. Apricot and plum aren’t super evident, though I feel some grape here - not sure if it’s "grape mist," however. Average carbonation. Malt and some florals in aroma. Slightly astringent, slightly sweet finish. Tap at Session.

Well-balanced. Pours light brown, cloudy with good head and lacing. Strawberry and ginger interact well but not a big taste here. Good beer to drink but light. Slightly sour finish. Tap at Session.

Who knows what kind of style this is - even tasting it I can’t really tell. That being said, it’s not a bad beer. Pours like watery peanut butter with decent head and lacing. Has peanut butter aroma but not too strong, some malt. Jelly doesn’t show up much. The name really makes you expect something a lot worse than this. Finishes a little sweet. Tap at Session.

An orange amber ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, beautiful vinous malt with grassy resinous hops and light doughy notes, old ale like. In mouth, a sweet smooth vinous malt with nice grassy hops, light menthol, alcohol warmth, very nice.

(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 20th 2013) Poured a chocolate brown with bubbly tan head atop it, big lace. Aroma has toasted malts, ashy, chocolate, vanilla, light barrel, bit of hops. Flavour has caramel malts, some moderate woody character, roast, bit of pine hops, good balance, not too sweet to start nor hoppy to finish, but rich and flavourful. Body is medium-full, booze is there but not overwhelming. Very solid collaborative ASA.

This is ok. Better than a lot of witbiers. Has some hops in the nose that makes it a little different from an average wit but makes it interesting. Pours golden clear with some head and lacing. Aroma has some citrus, banana and clove. Finishes sweet but light. Overall feel is a little watery. On tap at Bar Hop.
