Founder and Chief Beer Officer, An Bui has gained international recognition in his years spent working at his family-owned restaurant, Mekong, the Vietnamese eatery located in Richmond, Virginia. Founded in 1995, Mekong flourished into an award-winning spot for beer enthusiasts because of its wide variety of rare and international beers and expansive food menu. After years of spreading his passion for craft beer to the local community and throughout, Bui decided to take things a step further. On September 2, 2014, An opened the doors to The Answer Brewpub, his very own craft brewery. Featuring 56 taps, 2 bars, and an exceptional stage area for live music, The Answer has become another means of An’s continuous vision to expand the Richmond beer community.

Mini crowler from Rich. Black pour with a thin beige head. Aroma and taste are sweet chocolate and coconut. Coffee notes throughout. Nutty accents and vanilla peek through. Suoer smooth.

Mini crowler from Brewery. Black, slick pour with a thin beige head. Aroma is chocolaty, coffee, nutty. Taste is thick and sweet, chocolate, coffee and hazelnuts. Well rounded, excellent stout.

Mini crowler from brewery at share. Thickk black pour with minimal head.Aroma is sweet, roasty, chocolate, plus some cinnamon and chili. Similar to the french toast stout without the maple. Taste is coffee, chocolate, roasty, subtle touches of vanilla. Mildly bitter and spicy, velvety smooth. Very lush

Mini crowler from the brewery. Black pour with a bubbly beige head. Aroma picks up on the maple and cinnamon for full french toast effect, while the taste brings in subtle notes of vanilla and chocolate, banana and a hint of the chili peppers. Rich, thick, sticky.

Really not sure what to make of this. It’s an insane fruit smoothie, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Crisp and dry finish. Mango and peach h nectar, some barrel there as well, bone dry finish

Welch’s strawberry soda, but interestingly there’s no strawberry. Passion fruit and calamansi I are there at the end, maybe some cherry at the back of the tongue as well…

Remarkably impressive, even cold it’s incredibly flavourful. Peach, maple vanilla and mild coconut, the cinnamon is a hint at the back. Like a great meat glaze

Aroma is vanilla, coffee, maple. Flavor has all the adjuncts. Vanilla and coffee upfront, a little bit of cinnamon, ends on maple candy. Not overly sweet but definitely a sipper. I imagine this will get real sweet as it warms.

Aroma is vanilla, coffee, maple. Taste follows aroma, slightly sweet with a hint of cinnamon in the finish. One glass is enough.
