Founder and Chief Beer Officer, An Bui has gained international recognition in his years spent working at his family-owned restaurant, Mekong, the Vietnamese eatery located in Richmond, Virginia. Founded in 1995, Mekong flourished into an award-winning spot for beer enthusiasts because of its wide variety of rare and international beers and expansive food menu. After years of spreading his passion for craft beer to the local community and throughout, Bui decided to take things a step further. On September 2, 2014, An opened the doors to The Answer Brewpub, his very own craft brewery. Featuring 56 taps, 2 bars, and an exceptional stage area for live music, The Answer has become another means of An’s continuous vision to expand the Richmond beer community.

16oz can, purchased from the brewpub. Poured a clear, dark golden orange color with a fluffy, off-white head. Aroma was sweet malts. Clean, and easy to drink. Pleasant stuff.

Bottle at the 'Mere, Happy New Years (Tipples had) Tastang, group split, 21/01/22. Dark black with a good sized tan covering. Nose is dark malts, spice, molasses, dark chocolate, spice, toffee fudge. Tasting at Chez Bois. Thanks to the team for the can. Opaque dark brown beer, no real head. Smooth palate, slightly soft but turning out reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth and sweetish dark malts. Sweet dark malts. Sweet bourbon barrel. Light smooth spicy finish. A rich but sweet and simple affair.

Can at happy new year tasting. At Colin's. 21/01/2021. Group purchase. Oily brown sugars, sticky toffee, pudding cinnamon brown sugaring. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, sticky toffee,, peanut butter, cakey, fruit,. Jammy. Really sweet. Sticky.

Can shared in Hazlemere - cheers to the team. Pours clear deep brown with a small, foamy tan head. Big sweet flavour, cloying, a little milky coffee, raisins. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sticky and warming finish. Very basic overall.

16oz can, purchased at the source, The Answer. Poured a very cloudy, orange hued yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was big melon, passion fruit. Smooth. Flavor was same - big melon, passion fruit, light citrus.

Can thanks to Randy. Pours a cloudy orange yellow orange with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is dank and citrus. Slick body, grapefruit, melon, dank, nice bitterness, very good.

Crowler thanks to Denny. Pours a murky orange with small off white head. The aroma is marshmallow and sour fruit. Mango fluff, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.
