Draft sampler at the 2022 Rocky Water Brew Fest. Pours a cloudy dark bronze color with a small khaki head. Sour and nasty tasting. There's supposed to be cinnamon flavor, but I don't taste any. Drain pour.

16 ounce can. Hazy orange gold pour. Tight, bubbly beige head. Earthy, bready malt aroma hints at stone fruit and citrus. Subtle, bittersweet citrus flavor upfront. Notes of orange, apricot and papaya. Slightly dank on the backend. Mildly carbonated.

16 oz. can from The Bat Cave. Pours a mostly clear gold color with an off white head and decent retention. Zero lacing. Very little beer aroma. Light pale malts. The taste follows the nose: Light pale malt flavor with maybe a hint of yeast in the finish. A very basic profile. Clean and smooth, with a crisp mouthfeel. Light body. Minimal bitterness. Nothing bad, just a beer. Forgettable.

16 oz. can from The Bat Cave. Pours a pitch black / brown color with a small beige head and good retention. Almost no lacing. Very dark roasted malt aroma. Likewise, a dark roasted malt flavor too, with enough lactose to keep the finish mild. Medium-light semi-creamy body with a thin mouthfeel for the style. Very low carbonation and low dark chocolate bitterness. Not really sweet or bitter. Good flavor, yet a little thin. Very mellow overall.

Bottle split on the train from Derby to Bingohame, thanks to SHIG, 11/02/22. Hazed chestnut brown with a well presented beige crown. Nose is ripe fruits, fruit cake mix, rum barrelled, stewed fruits, stoned fruits, oak. Taste comprises peach brandy notes, dark fruits, dark malts, dates, hot boozey tones, stewed fruits, figs, light rummy elements. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent enough BW but no wow ... needs to be a little more subtle and nuanced on the barrel front.
