Pours clear yellow. Aroma of funky cloves. Missing the banana bread aroma and taste. Very little of the typical wheat beer sweetness or mouthfeel with a funky and spicy clove finish.

Clear golden and bright copper coloured body with a thinnish off-white head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of bitter metallic, grainy and slightly citrusey flavours with a dose of bitter hops showing some alcohol, light caster sugar sweetness and a touch of the grainy malt near the end. Medium-bodied; Strong and quite bitter malts up front with a lot of alcohol, grain, pungency, light toffee with a touch of fruits and a full-flavoured finish that shows a lot of deep robust and quite assertive and offensive flavours - especially towards the end. Aftertaste shows the bitter alcohol and malt flavours without any drastic complexity or easy subdued flavours that will hit the palate - this one is quite strong throughout and started nicely with a lot of bitterness that ended a bit too underwhelming throughout, with only a tiny bit of depth and provided a nice lesson of how to pungent beer. Overall, a nice enough beer, but at this price, I wouldn't have even driven down to the suburbs to grab this one. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Greenville Beer Exchange in Greenville, South Carolina on 31-May-2018 for US$1,83 sampled at home in Washington on 04-August-2018.
