Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a Friday afternoon prior to seeing Kids in the Hall! Appearance is a dark rubyish brown with a thin lightly white head that rims around the glass. Aroma of light nuts and caramel, definitely malty, light toffee as well. Taste goes down with a very light spice, more malty than anything else, overall pretty decent dark lager.

Bottle @ home via rotbox, thanks to TheAlum (I think). Pours a burnt orange appearance with a thin light brown head. A lot of toasty and husky grains in the nose. A fair amount of sweetness and a touch of citrus. Some grass. Decent mouth feel and finish but there is a lot of sweetness on the tongue. Grassy and doughy. Honey and toast. Decent carbonation. A bit old but decent.

12oz bottle. Pretty solid representation of the style. Not overboard and into the warped American ideas of what a Sticke Alt is, this is straight down the middle, classic. Medium bodied, Nice balance between the medium dark malts and pleasant hoppy bitterness. Light caramel, toasty dark bread, sweet malts. A really pleasant beer, capturing the essence better than most US examples.

Sample at Hopleaf. Clear amber color with a thin white head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, caramel and mild grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a roast malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Enjoyed on tap at Emporium Arcade Bar in Chicago, IL before my first show in years. Appearance is a dark caramel brown with a thin frothy white head. Aroma is kind of copperish, does have a nice malty aroma though. Taste comes through very nicely, nice rich malty flavor, haven't had any offerings from the style in quite a while, but I'm pretty happy with this one. Very good stuff.

Draft at Rock Bottom Warrenville. Caramel malt and hay aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet caramel malt and mild bitter herbal grass flavor. Light smoky finish. Very nice.

Thanks to Eugene for sharing - clear gold - frothy lace - lovely nose of honeyed maltiness, grassy and floral hops, bright fruitiness, melon rind - moderately frothy carbonation in the mouth - light, crisp - crackery malts, moderate minerality, floral, medium bitter hops - some clean honey-ish sweetness in the finish - light Vienna toastiness throughout - there is a very mild huskiness on the tail end that is the only drawback - otherwise this is quite a nice lager.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy medium orange with a half finger of bright white head. Aroma of herbal and earthy hops with some caramel, brown sugar and citrusy sweetness. Taste is medium sweet. Bready with caramel and sugar and a little herbal hops at the end. Light bodied with a sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not too bad.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a mostly clear copper with minimal head. Aroma is pretty weak. A little caramel and straw. Taste is light sweet. Caramel with a little spice. Full bodied with a slightly thick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Not standout but drinkable.
