Cervecería Fauna. Es una microcervecería familiar fundada en el año 2012 por los hermanos Larios Rizo en la ciudad de Mexicali, Baja California. Desde sus inicios, se dedicaron a producir cervezas dirigidas a un público aventurero, curioso, y retador. El primer par de cervezas que ofrecieron al mercado artesanal cervecero tienen bastante personalidad, por lo cual ambas, Lycan Lupus y Penélope, fueron rápidamente posicionadas en la frontera entre lo intenso y lo agresivo.

From a bottle at the DC tasting July 10, 2016 it is a clear pale golden color with a slight head. The aroma is shoe polish and the taste is a weird flavor of shoe polish as advertised

Bottle courtesy of solidfunk, thanks. Almost a gusher. Cloudy yellow color, massive white head. Aroma of paper and straw. Taste has light white pepper and more paper.

Poured into a snifter showing moderately filtered honey and amber with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows strong vegetal notes with hints of dry pineapple and lemon. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Flavors of light bell pepper and light pineapple. Citric zest at the finish.

Tastes like a Jolly Pumpkin beer. Huge snappy bretta with grapefruit and some pepper. Hazy golden pour. Great balance here. Easy drinking and great balance. Subtle.

Citrus and done peel and pepper. Orange pour with big initial foam. Good drinking and well balanced. Bitter finish. Bottle had on the way to a bar in D.F.

Bottle - Sweet orange peel and Mandarin. Cloudy gold with floaties and a small white head. Citrus peel, caramel and a bitter orange finish. OK.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Alexey’s place. Thanks Alexey. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of fruity hops, slightly zesty, with a soapy note. Flavor of fruity hops, slightly yeasty and soapy, with rather strong bitterness. Light to medium-bodied.

A golden amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with herbaceous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, citrusy, nice. In mouth, a nice herbaceous caramel malt with good pink grapefruit, resinous and floral hops, light doughy character, pleasant. Bottle from La Belga.
