A little about us and what you will find when you visit Pro Re Nata!

The Latin translation of Pro Re Nata means for a thing born. Our beers, born here in central Virginia near Charlottesville, are made with ingredients cultivated by people we know, created by a brewer who has been practicing his craft for more than fifteen years.

Since serving our first brew in 2015, we have grown into a multi-plex Collective of taprooms and outdoor areas:

The Original Brewery Taproom and Mountain View Patio
The larger Main Taproom and Stage
A Farmacy Garden Event Space and Outdoor Stage
An expansive Beer Garden with Mountain Views and Firepits

On tap at the brewery. Pours very pale gold. Wasn't expecting it to be that light in color. Lovely aroma of floral hops, citrus. Taste is bitter citrus peel, definite lemon, floral hops. Finishes quite bitter with hints of toast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at the brewery, 2/21/16. Clear orange, thin creamy off-white head, fair retention. Aroma of acrid smoke. The taste is mild smoke, cherries and a maple finish. Thin bodied, low carbonation.

Nitro at the brewery, 2/21/16. Dark clear red, medium creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, wheat, mild cherries. The taste is wheat, chocolate, cherries, vanilla. Thin.

Beans Deep Coffee Stout from Pro Re Nata Brewery

Tap. Pours opaque black, medium creamy tan head, good lacing. Aroma is a pretty healthy dose of espresso, some ashtray, tobacco, roasted malt. Flavor is roasty coffee, espresso, roasted malts, hints of tobacco and cocoa. Medium body, a touch watery perhaps, but otherwise really solid. Minimal acidity, which can be a challenge with coffee beers.

Tap. Pours red hazel and clear, small off white head, decent lacing. Aroma is malty, nutty, toffee, pumpernickel, roasty, touch of copper. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter. Perhaps a touch of cherry, but honestly I would not pick it up without prompting. Perhaps on the far finish... Medium body.

Tap. Pours quite hazy pale golden, medium white head, nice residual and lacing. Aroma is Citrus, banana, clove, passionfruit. Flavor is interesting, light sweet, minimal bitterness, lots of hef flavors overset with a tropical citrus bite. Light plus body. Lingering bitterness. Not sure that I am down with this combo.
