A little about us and what you will find when you visit Pro Re Nata!

The Latin translation of Pro Re Nata means for a thing born. Our beers, born here in central Virginia near Charlottesville, are made with ingredients cultivated by people we know, created by a brewer who has been practicing his craft for more than fifteen years.

Since serving our first brew in 2015, we have grown into a multi-plex Collective of taprooms and outdoor areas:

The Original Brewery Taproom and Mountain View Patio
The larger Main Taproom and Stage
A Farmacy Garden Event Space and Outdoor Stage
An expansive Beer Garden with Mountain Views and Firepits

Keg at the brewery. Served on tap at the same time as the regular Hop Drone so maybe they’re doing a series? Clear pale golden, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of pine, grapefruit zest, pale malt. The taste is grapefruit zest, pale malt, mild tropical and piney hops. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness, well balanced.

Keg at the brewery. Dark brown, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coconut, coffee. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, coconut, chocolate. Thin bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

Keg at the brewery. Hazy orange, thin fizzy off-white head, decent retention. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, yeast, mild plum. The taste is toasted malt, corn, herbal hops, yeast. Medium bodied, dry.

Keg at the brewery. Clear pale golden, thin foamy white head, decent retention. Aroma of snappy, herbal, grassy hops, pale malt. The taste is pale doughy malt, grassy hops. Medium bodied, crisp, decent balance.

Wonderful tobacco nose, with coffee on the edges. Mahogany, medium creamy tan head, nice lacing. Coffee is more pronounced on the palate, wormwood also present. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Clove and allspice aroma, moderately strong. Cola black, medium tan head. Allspice with hints of clove and nutmeg. Creamy, light, and soft. Very easy going, drinkable, spice beer that doesn’t assault the senses.

Little aroma, maybe dandelions. Clear amber, thin head. Dandelions, a little buttery. Mild daffodil finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Floral and dry, too buttery.
