This beer pours a hazy orange color with a medium thick off-white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of spicy hops, roast malt and fruit. The finish is subtly spicy rye malt with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose and taste of spicy rye, white sugar, dry bread, sugared grapefruit peel, light orange zest and sugared wheat malt. Medium body. Dry finish. Very overcarbonated. . Otherwise, pretty good.

Draft at Appalachian Vintner. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of cocoa, nutty notes, herbal hops. The taste is cocoa, nuts, dark fruits, herbal hops. Medium bodied.

Bomber from Bestway, bottled 6/23/13. Pours a slightly hazy amber, lots of visible carbonation, large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big citrus and tropical notes, floral and rye notes, mild toasted malts. The taste is strong rye, some tropical notes, herbal hop finish. Mild toasted malts, a hint of the wheat. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, faint booze. Nice beer.

Bomber courtesy of the brewer. There was an earlier, lower score, from a bottle that had been purchased a week prior to opening, but was out of date. The brewer was awesome enough to send me a fresh replacement bottle. Thanks! Pours a clear amber color with a thin frothy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of peppery, herbal and resin hops with pale, slightly buttery malts. The taste is herbal, resin hops, toasted caramel malts, stone fruits. Thin-medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

22 oz. bottle. Slightly hazy gold, with a medium, frothy, off-white head. Apples, hay, strong resin, and some pine. Earthy notes, and some musty yeastiness. Mellow sweetness, with a light bitterness. Medium body, grainy, malty, and slick. Overall, this is a light and easy-drinking beer, but nicely complex and tasty.
