Description
Beth Boylan and Tim Harper founded Starpoint Brewing in their Carrboro, NC garage in 2012 and quickly developed a dedicated following for their small batch IPAs.

Using premium malts and time-honored brewing techniques, Harper and head brewer Ken Hampton craft their signature brews Surfin’ Buddha (IPA), Duh! (Double IPA), Hipster or Hobo? (Pale Ale), year-round while seasonally offering old favorites like Tekkno Boy (Double IPA), and special limited-edition beers.
The unique names of Starpoint beers are inspired by Harper’s misspent youth as a touring musician and sound engineer as well as his adventures and experiences traveling with family and friends….

In January 2017, Starpoint moved their brewing operations to a shared space with the Beer Study Bottle Shop in Durham, NC allowing them to triple their brew capacity and focus on what they do best — brewing top flight IPAs and small-batch seasonal ales, lagers, porters and stouts. Starpoint beers are available on tap at the Durham brewery and at bottle shops, bars and restaurants in the Triangle and along the coast of North Carolina.

Thank you for all of your support and encouragement over the years! We promise to do our best to continue to brew the freshest ales and lagers available! Cheers!

9 day old pint can A: Poured a clear rich dark gold with a swirl of fine haze topped by 1 of thick foam that held up very well. S: Very muted scent of tangerine citrus and peachy tropicals. T: Tart melon and tropical fruit hop notes. Light alcohol, honey, light caramel and wood underneath balance nicely though the description promises more hop pop. M: Medium body with average carbonation level and clean finish. O: Comes across stronger than it is. Tasty and well balanced but I'd like a bigger hop bite.
