Pint can pours with a deep dark body that supports a thin mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up booze, bourbon and chocolate with a sense of molasses in the background. The taste is just bursting at the seams. The fairly smooth bourbon is right there in your face. But a moment later bold rich notes of chocolate cake, chocolate frosting and booze break into the experience. Just behind are notes of caramel, dark roasted malts and then booze and chocolate infused molasses. Wow. Great rich chocolatey sipper.

Pint can pours with a murky dirty gold body that supports a nice off white head of foam. The aroma offers up tropical perfumy flowers, guava, goji berries, red currants, pineapple and mango. The taste delivers tangy floral pineapple, guava and red currants that are both juicy and bitter fruity hoppiness. Toward the finish it gets a tad mineral and medicinal. Good beer nonetheless.

Bought at The Deuce at Pinehurst #2, NC. 12 oz can. Drank out of the can. Not super-bitter but a little hoppy. Tastes more like a pale ale than an IPA.

Draft at the Ryder Cup Lounge in The Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst, NC. Clear gold color with a small white head and poor retention. No lacing. Tastes like a normal lager. Not really creamy, but it is smooth and clean and crisp. Pretty good beer.

19 day old can > weizenbock. A: Hard poured to only 1/4" of fast falling white foam, Crystal clear pale yellow color with little visible carbonation or lace. S: Puzzling apple/white grape winey kolsch-esque scent with faint perfume. T: Again winey and dry with pine, grapefruit pith and a hint of alcohol on the finish. OK but not tropical. M: Light bodied with low but crisp carbonation and some lingering wine to finish. O: Not pleased as it tastes nothing like its name. As a strong ass kolsch it works but as a "tropical" pale ale it fails. I hope SP makes Edge Of Town again this year.

Crowler can at RB Best Hotel Lobby Share, post festival, 31/01/16. Light black with a decent tan head. Nose is tarte red berries, ash, light charr, smoke, brett strokes. Taste comprises tangy red berries, cherry skins, balsa wood, soured pitted fruit, dirty stoned fruit, damp hay, brett, funk, cherry balsams. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an acidic whisper. Drinkable but delivers little for the ABV.
