Description
The people behind Pale Fire Brewing Co. love the moment creativity is sparked and the fact that there is generally a great beer close by. The big idea, scribbled first on a bar napkin. Friends noodling around guitars, who suddenly realize they’ve hit on something great. Stories, told around a campfire, when nobody has a clue what time it is. Great beer is there.
In 2013, a space in a renovated Ice House in downtown Harrisonburg became available. It was perfect; the wheels were in motion. Pale Fire Brewing Co. opened in April 2015.
Pale Fire beer is currently distributed in Virginia by Virginia Eagle in Harrisonburg, Blacksburg, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Winchester and Northern Virginia; and also by Specialty Beverage in Richmond, Roanoke, and Tidewater. You can also find Pale Fire beer in Washington, D.C. and Maryland, distributed by Legends Limited. Our beer is available in 1/6 barrel and 1/2 barrel kegs, 12oz bottles, and small runs of 16oz cans.
Visit our Tap Room, which is open daily at 1pm.

Yeasty aroma, hints of smoke which seem to bring out the yeast. Clear dark bronze, thin head, some lace. Bready, malt and grain at midpalate, dried leaves throughout. Berry finish once warm. Medium body, easy carbonation, zero astringency.

Mild honey nose. Clear amber, medium head. Honey and lavender. Medium body, soft. Nicely hopped, which is a pleasant departure from the usual cloying boozy messes I usually find in this style. Great balance, lovely beer.

Lillies, daffodil nose. Hazy amber, thin head. Daffodil, green onion. Malt finish. Medium body, harsh, dry. Good transitions and intensity but more floral than I like. Probably pairs well with bearnaise.

Draft: Strong and pronounced aroma of grapefruit and tangerine. Cloudy copper, medium yellow head, good lacing. Bread crust, grapefruit, and daffodils. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Super hopped, within style guidelines for an American wheat but it drinks like a really good IPA. Brilliant crafting.
