Mostly clear golden coloured body with a very large, four to five centimetre tall, off-white head that's quite soapy and leaving a funky lace on the sides and on top. Aroma of grass, hay, some flowers and a slight scent of the sugars and some rustic, biscuity earthy malts, especially at the end. Light-bodied; Relatively dry and grassy notes show at first with a soft but noticeable hop bitterness and some supportive malt notes and a light sweetness that seems to come from stone fruits of apricots with a nice balance throughout. Aftertaste shows a nice level of hop bitterness from the alpha acids here, some soft sugars that are enjoyable and relatively complex and a good malt backbone makes this quite robust and flavourful, especially for the low ABV. Overall, a nice IPA, near 'Light' status that has some good flavours, a light bitterness and some smooth sugars, but the balance is struck nicely here. Great to try just three days before heading BACK to Big Meadows - this time camping with my wife and three kids. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from The Big Meadows Wayside (of course!) on 19-June-2022 at Shenandoah National Park in 'Luray', Virginia for US$1,69, canned on 23-May-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 06-July-2022.

Pretty hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a fairly thick and fast-dying five to six centimetre tall tan and very soapy head. Aroma of grassy and pretty floral hops with a strong bitterness, a dash of resin and light candy notes that seems to show some sweetness and a dry malt scent. Medium-bodied; Crisp grassy and floral hops s how at first with a soft soapy and more pungent malt bite with a nice balance and still some robust bitterness at the end that showcases the hops, but still brings out the malts and slight rustic nuttiness that shows that this came from the East Coast. Aftertaste is balanced, showing some nice bitterness and a smooth, but noticeable hop note all with the malt and caramelised sugars even stronger. Overall, a nice and robust, pure East Coast real IPA with bitterness but with enough malt, nuts and sweetness to show this as a good beer throughout. Nice to sample and a good beer for this classic style from the SouthWest of Virginia! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Charlottesville, Virginia on 20-February-2022 for US$1,67, canned on 06-December-2021 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-April-2022.

$3.95 pint can, WW. Got a second for Drake, but whoops! two in a row he already had. Good thing like yuzu. Gold, hint of haze, tons of carbonation, white head. tropical fruit, citrus peel - probably yuzu as it's different than normal, bread crust nose. Holy cow: lots of yuzu, including peel, passionfruit, peach skin, bread. Juicy, but not, if that makes sense. Dry finish.

12 ounce can from Wegman's Charlottesville, 6/8/23. Hazy orange, large tan head, average retention. Aroma of toast, grain, Noble hop. Taste is toast, caramel, butterscotch (a nice way of saying a weird meaty and buttery note that is not actually bad). Noble hops. Crisp, well balanced. Nice, though a bit strange. 3500th Virginia rating!
