Couple pints at Barrel and Bushel in Tysons Corner pours a clear orange with some lacing, white head. Nose is zippy with soap and pine, orange, grapefruit, grass, chives. Flavor follows, grass, chives, pine, orange, grapefruit, soap, light woody herbs. Crisp finish. Very drinkable.

5oz draft pour at the 2016 YOX anniversary party at Old Ox. Poured a clear, dark orange, kind of brown color with a small off-white head. Light citrus, like a very malt froward DIPA. Okay.

5oz draft pour at the 2016 YOX anniversary party at Old Ox. Poured a pitch black color, velvet pour. Dark chocolate notes. Rich dark cocoa, roast is through the roof. Light nutella. Boozy, smooth bourbon. Pretty tasty. Even with it being in the mid 80s.

Draft at Yard House-Springfield. Dark brown/black pour with small creamy beige head. Not picking up much on the nose. Taste likewise, weak for both rye and porter characteristics. Decent silky body accompanies some latent bitterness (and very late sourness), but that’s it. Surprised at the ratings on this.

Draft pour at the 2016 YOX anniversary party at Old Ox. Poured a pale yellow color with a small wispy mostly white head. Aroma was lime juice, margarita, tequila. Flavor reminded me of Real Lime concentrate, salt. Tastes like a margarita. Nice tartness too.

Draft pour at the 2016 YOX anniversary party at Old Ox. Hazy orange pour with an off-white head. Aroma was solid tripel notes. Very light fruits, not a lot of cherry character coming from this one. Flavor was light cherry pits, cherry skin. Very mild cherry.
