In 2015, a new generation has risen and so has the brewery. The Verbeeck-Back family bloodline was reinforced by the De Cock family. Together, they have formed the formidable, reassuringly Belgian-sounding name Verbeeck – Back – De Cock. VBDCK. This new crop of VBDCK heirs to the family tradition of Belgian quality and craft has literally been digging up history by its roots. They are ripping through the nostalgic silence with KEREL, the beer that says it all, and the transformation of the original brewery and family residence into a new place to stay.

Smell-weak, malt, a bit acidic, maybe faint caramel. Foam- malt, a bit acidic feel some slightly sour notes. Head is large, light brown-white color. Appearance- brewer bottle cap, unique bottle for beer also somewhat interesting label, nice. From - snifter Taste - malt, some citrus, some Belgian yeast-ish tones, citrus mixed with malts. The somewhat weird, but not unpleasant combination ff taste is not bad but also do not wow me. Drinkable and OK for one time I guess.

33cl Fles van Landmarkt / Ranzijn. Troebel donkergoud / amber kleur, witte kraag.

Bottle. Almost clear dark orange/copper feat. a great white head. Aroma of yeast, malts, stone fruits and caramel. Taste is all that plus apples, some grass and even some citrus fruits. Earthy and slightly tart with a very dry finish. Medium bitterness and medium carbonation. I suppose I quite liked it.

5 % Version. Bottle. Black with a nice enough beige head. Aroma of mild malts and a little bit of chocolate. Taste is mokka, malts and some chocolate cookies with roasty bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Thin mouthfeel. Ok but they can do better.

Bottle. Brown/amber with a small beige head. Aroma is very fruity: tangerines, oranges and a little bit of tropical fruits. Taste is even more fruitiness with caramel, roasted malts and just hints of chocolate. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. Balanced. Nice.

Bottle. Clear dark gold/orange with a decent white head. Aroma and taste are very fruity: apricots, peaches and citrus fruits. Malts, some resin and pine. Rather dry finish with long lasting bitterness. Medium to strong carbonation. Pretty tasty for its low abv. Proper.
