12 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery - hazy copper beer, with a minimal head - reeks of diacetyl (butterscotch pudding, to be exact) with some doughy malt underneath - a little tart up front, then the expected diacetyl shows up, followed by some odd flavors of vanilla ice cream and tea biscuits - a little herbal bitterness at the end, and lingering cookie dough flavor - really odd.

I really wanted to like this beer, but I was unimpressed - you can sure taste the grains in here, but not much else - the beer is very sweet, so it combines with the grains to make the beer taste like some kind of healthy cereal with a lot of honey poured on top of it - other than that, there wasn’t a lot going on here - corn became prominent in the finish, and the sweetness kept reminding me of corn syrup.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing. A black beer and on the thin side for palate. The aroma is nice, unmistakable vanilla, very pleasant and it is not like syrup or sugar. Flavor is mild, dominated by vanilla that is probably more from the aroma than the flavor. Lightly smoked grains as well. Not as sweet as Breckenridge, but quite nice.
