About
Old Bust Head Brewing Company is an independent, solar-powered microbrewery in Fauquier County, VA west of DC. Our experience brewing traditional ales & lagers has helped us win awards in styles classic and creative. With beautiful views of slate roofed barns and refurbished campus-like brick buildings, Old Bust Head is part of a unique farm called ‘Vint Hill’ that for 50 years operated as a top secret military listening post. Familiar faces behind the bar share their love of craft in our 1950’s post & beam taproom while covered outdoor seating between our taproom and production area provides a welcoming environment for leashed dogs and all-weather access to a rotating variety of food trucks.

16 oz can poured into a tulip. Hazy orange with off-white head. Aromas of stone fruit, orange, light tartness, a little salt. Tastes of orange and lemon citrus, light tart notes, stone fruit. Light body with a dry finish. Very tasty.

16 oz can poured into a tulip. Hazy crimson red with a sliver of beige head. Aromas of strawberry, lemon. Tastes of strawberry, lemon, light tart notes. Light body with a dry finish. Pretty much tastes like pink lemonade without the sugary sweetness. Delicious, almost too easy to just knock back.

Tap at City Tap in D.C. Pours copper with a near white head. Super citrus aroma. Med++ body. Flavor is very citrus, but the malt is heavy. Wow drink. Bitter. Hop burn. Lots of flavor. Delicious.

500 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Dark brownish black with quick fading light tan head, fizzy soda-like carbonation. Aromas of whiskey, coconut, cocoa, caramel, oak, a little roasted coffee. Tastes of whiskey, coconut, caramel, dark chocolate and cocoa, subtle coffee. Bourbon seems to mask most of the coffee. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Pretty good, probably my favorite of their barrel aged Gold Cups.

4 oz pour on nitro at Old Bust Head. Dark cola brownish with light tan head. Aromas of cocoa, caramel, dark chocolate. Tastes of cocoa, dark chocolate. Light body with a dry finish. Nice enough, body is lighter than I’d expect for nitro.
