Description
Old Bust Head Brewing Company is an independent, solar-powered microbrewery in Fauquier County, VA west of DC. Our experience brewing traditional ales & lagers has helped us win awards in styles classic and creative. With beautiful views of slate roofed barns and refurbished campus-like brick buildings, Old Bust Head is part of a unique farm called ‘Vint Hill’ that for 50 years operated as a top secret military listening post. Familiar faces behind the bar share their love of craft in our 1950’s post & beam taproom while covered outdoor seating between our taproom and production area provides a welcoming environment for leashed dogs and all-weather access to a rotating variety of food trucks.

Draft pour at Rustico - Alexandria. Like the base beer, this one poured a dark brown color with a nice tan head. Aroma was a lot of roasted malt notes, light coffee, chocolate, touch of light cherries. Flavor was mostly roasted malt notes, with some light cherry character to it. Alcohol was still pretty well hidden for 10 percent.

Draft at Novemberfest 2015. Poured a nice amber orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was strong notes of earthy and hoppy notes. Flavor was a bit malty, but had a nice herbal and chewy hop character. Pretty darn good.
