750 ml bottle purchased at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. Bot on 02/11/16 printed on the bar code label. The pour is a hazed brown with a one inch tan head that is lasting. Head eventually falls with nice lace. The aroma is tequila right away followed by rounded Belgian yeast and general vanilla oak barrel. The taste is mostly the barrel at first, followed by clean full bodied Belgian quad sweet caramel malt and the Belgian yeast. The tequila and a grass vegetal note carry the finish. There is a lingering strong alcohol booze in the finish. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, soft natural carbonation and a big boozy sweet dry alcohol finish. Solid, well executed for what they were looking to do. I’m not a Tequila fan, though appreciated what this beer achieved. Fans of tequila and big sweet boozy beers would love this one.

12 oz goblet draft at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a hazy, murky golden copper brown with a smallish off white head. Pretty thick lace is left on the glass. The aroma is strong sweet caramel malt, soft Bourbon barrel notes and a warming vanilla. Very sweet nose, but naturally so and well integrated. The taste is the caramel toffee sweetness right away, almost a Creme Brulee vanilla. The sweetness is melded really nicely with the Bourbon and barrel flavors, and the beer finishes with a touch of grass. The palate is heavy bodied with soft carbonation and the sweet toffee and warming Bourbon in the finish. This is a boozy beer, but really well integrated. This is not 100% my type of beer, but it is executed exceptionally well.

~14 oz Willebecher draft at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a one inch pure white head. The aroma is zesty citrus, floral and a bit of resin. The taste is the blood orange citrus up front, followed by the floral resin and closing with a fresh and clean cracker cereal malt. The palate is light bodied with active carbonation and a dry crisp clean finish. Great beer for sitting on the MCBC patio on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Several glassed from a growler filled 3 hours previously. The pour is a hazed purple golden with a thin white head. Nice lace left on the glass. The aroma is lemon citrus, blueberry fruit, softly tart sour along with a fresh grain. Pedio appears as the beer warms. The taste is tart sour lemon Pedio, balanced nicely with the fresh blueberry fruit and the grain of the malt. The palate is light bodied with softer carbonation and the lingering tart sour finish. Crisp easy drinking Berliner.
