12 oz can purchased as a single at Bier Station in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is crystal clear light golden, foamy white head with tons of very fine carbonation bubbles rising from the bottom. The aroma is grain, corn and softly sweet malt. The taste is pretty standard American lager, with the grain and corn of the malt right away, subdued malt sweetness, and a dusty grass herbal finish. The palate is light to medium bodied, active carbonation and the sweetish grass, herbal lingering finish, the finish eventually shows corn. An upgrade from your Bud or Coors.

Draft/Fest. A- Pine. A- Gold color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Pine, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish. O- After a day filled with mediocre beers, I asked for this as Electric Booga 100 FPA, asking what the hell an FPA was. Turned out it was just terrible chalk board writing. The beer was the equivalent of the writing. Not impressive. Lots of bitterness, no flavor.

Draft/Fest. A- Lime. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Lime, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- I like the fact that they recognize that a basic lager beer needs some lime. They went a little too lime forward but the concept is there. Okay.

12 oz goblet at Bier Station in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is an opaque black brown with a think, lasting one inch khaki head. The aroma is roast malt, pine and orange citrus. The taste is a clean and fresh roast, toast malt with the pine hops carrying the back. The juicy citrus hops are present as well, though underneath the pine. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and a dry, roast, mineral and pine finish. Nice Black IPA.

Tulip draft at Cinder Block Brewing in North Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a ½ inch foamy white head that leave behind nice lace. The aroma is citrus lemon, tart almost vinegar, and general yeast funk. The taste is very funky, particularly initially, (settled in as it warmed) with bright funk, tart citrus fruit and peel, and the general baryard mustiness of the yeast. The palate is medium bodied, soft to low carbonation, lingering dry funk of the yeast.

Multiple shaker pint drafts at Cinder Block Brewing in North Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a slightly hazed orange golden with a small white foamy head. The aroma is fresh, soft citrus fruit, floral and cereal malt. The taste is super fresh, soft and clean with the citrus fruit floral softly resin hop balanced very nicely with the cereal malt backbone. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and the finish is clean and dry. This was nice, I really like Cinder Block’s beer, and this was a favorite.
