My 5,000th rate. Plenty of folks to thank for this. First and foremost, my wonderful wife who travels the world with me to visit far off breweries and is always game for a pint. The DC Ratebeer crew who have provided a good percentage of my 5k. I consider myself incredibly lucky to live in a place that has such a cohesive, community focused group of beer enthusiasts. Thanks to the rugby boys who have also shared many bottles with me: BigSexy410, NMann08, JSlot38 and others. Thanks to all of the great DC beer spots who commit to bringing the best to our city. DC is a premier beer destination thanks to all the great bars, restaurants, bottle shops and breweries in and around our borders. Finally, thanks to all the brewers out there to put passion and craft into their work. Beer is a spectacular hobby which has brought me to so many interesting places and to so many dynamic people. It starts with the brewers, so thank you to everyone working hard at the craft. This 750ml bottle bottle was procured at the bottle shop at Al’s of Hampden. Consumed on a lovely, warm fall day on my "lawn" right next to the Potomac river. Pours a clear, buttery yellow with zero head. Hardly any carbonation. Nose has a ton of buttery oak, white grape, apples, a little lemony, some brie cheese too. Flavor is surprisingly tannic, lemon tea, apples, mild herbs, buttery oak, a little mild toffee, quite a bit of white grape. Tannic finish. No carbonation at all. A little carb might have perked this right up.

Draft at Bulls Head. Clear extra pale yellow, fluffy white head, champagne bubbles. Aroma of dusty apple skins. Taste is not overly sweet, sparkling wine and fruit.
