12oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with some thin, tan head. Nose is pretty nice, tons of fresh roasted coffee, not the cheap coffee either, the kind of coffee which makes you think of dried blueberries and apple cores and tobacco, turbinado sugar, a little cakey, German chocolate. Flavor is the same, dark chocolate, pleasant coffee, brown sugar, some dried fruit, some toast, some molasses. Hides the 8.6% well. Lovely. Massive success for Monocacy.

Draft pour at Meridian Pint. Cloudy brown color, small off-white head. Aroma was some sweet light malts, some light crisp yeast notes. I was pretty sure they said it was a lager on the menu - a Brown Lager or whatever, but I enjoyed it anyway.
