Poured into a mug, the appearance was a black color with a thick finger and a half white to off-white foamy head that gently dissipated. Stringy to messy lace.
The aroma had some chocolate malt up front with a sly underneath of grassy hops.
The flavor leaned to the roasty side and brought in some bitterness of some dark chocolate. Sweet grains linger in. Full aftertaste of the chocolate and bitter grassy hops. Quick rugged semi-roasty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body leaning closer to the medium side and having a fairly decent sessionable feel. Low carbonation. Dry roasted edge punches my tongue.
Overall, very dry all around, invasive yet do-able. I could have this one again, but with a pitcher of water next to me. Possibly one of the driest of Irish dry stouts I’ve ever had.

Poured into a thistle, the appearance was a semi-dark brown color with purple hues gliding into a finger’s worth of white foamy head.
The aroma had smoke up front with some nuts and caramel malts slyly moving in underneath.
The flavor had the smoke again with a swift semi-sticky malt bill sticking in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionably smooth feel on my tongue. Low carbonation. ABV felt right too.
Overall, nice scotch ale that I could have again.
