Bottled. Dark black. Rich tobacco aroma. Sweet, woody and very chocolatey. Very malty with loads of toffee and some soy sauce. Extremely rich and warming. An overpowering beer with lots and lots going on.

I generally don’t care for smoke, but this beer did it well. Besides the smoke aroma the beer is simple with a sweet malt flavor. It needs more body, but goes down easy enough. It is cool to see a brewpub attempting something like this.

No Spaten or Paulaner but a good double anyway. It has the standard bock qualities and does all of them well enough. Malt and carmel aroma, sweet flavor with hidden alcohol.

Top rate. Oak everywhere, in the aroma and flavor. Aroma also has roasted malt and bourbon. Bourbon in the flavor as well, along with more malt, chocolate, coffee and tobacco in the complex flavor. It could be a hair thicker on the palate, but this is a great beer for sure.

Fitger’s came through with this beer. Rotting fruit aromas and flavors. Very dark brown, with a thick and heavy body. Not as malty as the real thing. I had no idea the abv was so high when I was drinking it.

It is hard to overstate how sweet this beer is; and the sweetness seems to be from sugar. The sweetness is much stronger than the sour apple flavor. Light yellow color.

One of the highlights of the 2005 ABR. Very powerful hops; so much so that it is definitely a sipper. Very dark red. Some herbal qualities in the aroma and flavor. Good work.
