Sampled from the tap at ABR 2019. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of barrel, dark grains, some sweet chocolate, dark fruits and roast backing. Flavor has dark grains, dark fruits and barrel with a growing roast through the beer.

On tap at Republic, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a nice dry oat character upfront, with lightly toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with oats, toasted malt and some earthy, chalky notes. Missing a little sweetness and roast to achieve better depth. Okay.

ABR 2017. There is no head on this beer. A lot of bacon and maple in the aroma. Flavor has bacon grease and salt. The roast is too heavy making it dry and bitter, and more smoke would have been good in this beer.

Sampled from the cask at the brewpub. Pours a near clear gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has notes of grass and earthy pine with a bread backbone. Flavor has earthy pine and grass throughout with an earthy grain backbone.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy grains and rye with a bit of bread backing. Flavor is similar with notes of bread, rye and grains.
