Brown color with some foam. Surprisingly a big grapefruit aroma and flavor. It is lightly tart, but really lacks the flavors common to a Flanders red or brown.

Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours a hazy gold with an orange hue and a white head that dissiaptes to the edges. Aroma has bitter citrus and pine with some sweet grain underlying. Flavor has a good amount of pine, a hint onion and a hint of bitter citrus with a sweet grain backbone.

Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours a near clear deep amber brown with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light roasted malts and sweet grains with some caramel and coffee. Flavor has a decent maount of caramel, sweet grains and a hint of roasted malts.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a combination of sweet grains and spicy to hot peppers. Flavor begins with sweet grains but is quickly overtaken by spicy peppers which grow in heat through the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of dark grains with a touch of roasted malts and a hint of peaty dryness. Flavor has dark grains and chocolate up front with a bit of roast and a decent amount of peat in the finish.

Tap at the brewery. Black beer of course; very little carbonation, which is fine for a porter. Heavy roast, some chocolate is there, and I can pick up the vanilla. Solid beer.
