16oz can shared by Nic with Micah, W and me. Glad I was tipped off there was ’something’ to look for before tasting. Nice sweetness and chamomile. (I thought cardomam and cinnamon).

I believe this was my first rating of Winterfest 2017. Black beer. Light smoke in the aroma and more smoke flavor, some wood, moderately roasted malt but the smoke is the most prominent character, I am happy to say. This is what I am looking for in a smoke stout. Usually they lack sufficient smoke flavor and aroma but this one was well done.

ABR 2016. This was one of the highlights of the festival. Great smoke aroma. black color. Low carbonation. more smoke in the flavor, grain, some coffee, a little bit of cherry but not much of this. More smoke than any other beer today. Thick, rich palate. I am not sure how high the abv is. Some sugar and malt flavors.
