On tap at the vintage estates. Mild dull coffee smell. Taste however is a big blast compared to the smell. Rams you in the head, kicks you in the head with a coffee black blast. Wallop and smack. Smell gives no inkling of the taste that follows. Black burnt coffee laced with alky. Some co2 surprizingly for a stout of this impact. Reminds me of grampa’s black coffee with a couple of shots in it when he was watching gunsmoke. Just plain rude finish for a lager lover. Brutally on coffe imp stout sound style.

tap - This brew has a heavy strawberry aroma with some very mild malt in the background. It tastes of sweet strawberries and mild hops bitterness is detectable. It’s average, but is still yet another underwhelming fruit beer.

Bomber from Belmont Party Supply. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of caramel, earthy hops, some citrus. The taste is big citrus hops with a bit of a resiny note and some caramel malts. Medium bodied. Decent IPA.

Pours black with dark brown highlights with beige head. Low carbonation and medium body. Taste is roasted malt (mostly coffee). Alcohol is pretty well covered, this is a pretty good beer.

Growler. Poured a clear gold with an amber hue and a white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was mainly pine with some backing citrus and a slight hay backbone. Flavor began with hay and grain but was overtaken by a strong pine finish with just a bit of citrus in there as well.

Bottle. Poured a hazy orange amber with a bubbly but quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma has notes of light malts, fruits, honey and a bit of spice. Flavor has some clear light citrus notes with some cinnamon and honey. Surprisingly light for a christmas beer.

Location: 12 oz bottle shared by a friend, 1/15/10

Aroma: Corn, a drop of citrus, I could add other stuff but I'd be fibbing, there's not much going on with the nose on this one, not that I was surprised, it was too be expected
Appearance: Fizzy yellow water, fizzy white head
Flavor: Taste is water, cereal, corn, and a lot more water
Palate: As watery as it was, I'll give it a (small) bump becuase it's clean
Overall Impression: When we were drinking this, someone actually commented that it tasted like Miller Lite with a different label. That's not a bad description in as much as Miller Lite tastes like water and looks like yellow water. Maybe it seemed worse to me because it was stuck between some really good beers, but this stuff was just not good. From my notes: "Worked as a nice palate cleanser, I wanted some water but was too lazy to stand up and walk to the kitchen, this beer was a perfect substitute." That was apparently the nicest thing I had to say about it. Let's move along...

Little chunks and things foating around in an iced tea colored beer. Smell is somewhat like spiced candy or rum. Quite strong and bitter spicey. Could take it or leave it. Not much on these spicey holiday brews. Too much citrus peel.
