Decent beer for style. Some rust characteristic of most viennas and a little pineapple husk. Orange amber pour with pretty good head and lacing. Rusty, crispy finish with a little bitterness. Can from a Trader Joe's.

Super deep and perfectly clear amber coloured body with a nice copper glow and a good sized, two to three centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of malt, light metallic and funky grainy notes with a grassy and floral vibe and some light caramel notes with the sweetness coming through near the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grainy and malty flavours dominate at first with a good hit of light bitterness from the alcohol and showing some earthy nuttiness and a touch of sweetness towards the end that shows a lot of caramlised sugars, but sort of overwhelmed with the lager yeast and breadiness at the end. Aftertaste shows grain, metal, bitter nuts, earthiness and a light sweetness without much escape that hits hard and strong and shows a lot of alcohol bite, with some metallic twang towards the very end. Overall, a relatively nutty, sweet and bitter malt-forward beer with some earthy and rustic grainy flavours and metal towards the end, but a smooth finish makes this a worthy option here in the season. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Washington (West End), DC on 23-August-2020 for US$1,84 sampled at my house here in Washington on 07-October-2020.

Clear golden coloured body with a dense, thick, four to five centimetre tall pure white head that has very small bubbles. Aroma of grass, pale grain, metal, funk, stale rice and a fair bit of skunk - this smells much more like Budweiser or a cheap Eastern European (Czech) pilsner than anything I've had recently. Light-bodied; Strong funky malt notes dominate with a dry and slightly artificial sugar flavour that lessens the load on the bitter and funky grainy elements, but those are still here as well. Aftertaste shows some light rice and herbal notes with some grass and dryness throughout with a smooth bitterness from the light hops and pleasant balance as well. Overall, a relatively strong beer in the nose and at first, but after a few sips and through the absolute end, a beer that grows to some degree and is much better than I initially thought after the first smell and sip. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Trader Joe's in Washington (West End),  DC on 23-August-2020 for US$2,00 sampled at my house here in Washington on 14-September-2020.

Clear golden coloured body with a relatively thick, five centimetre tall rich tan head that stays afloat for a long time. Aroma of flowers, dry grain light yeast, bread, grapefruit and a healthy dose of coriander seed with a light sweetness from citrus fruits and pure caster sugar. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy, herbal and very perfumey notes dominate at first with a lot of curacao and full oranges in the mix with a light dose of herbs and some noticeable malts coming from the slightly grainy profile near the end that seemingly has some bitterness from malt and not any hops. Aftertaste shows some floral notes, a lot of citrusey sweetness and a dry profile (as you'd expect from the style) with a fairly good balance struck throughout. Overall,  a fairly decent saison that shows the flavours that you'd expect, but don't provide a classy or robust enough complexity to make this great or worth trying to find. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Trader Joe's in Washington (West End),  DC on 23-August-2020 for US$2,00 sampled at my house here in Washington on 09-September-2020.

Super crisp golden and light toffee coloured body with a good, two to three centimetre tall off-white and tan head that is fairly soapy and fades quickly. Aroma of grass, hay, light pine, some citrus fruits and even a dose of resin. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong very grassy and floral bite shows through with a lot of hay, flowers and grapefruit rind noticeable and showing some herbal elements at the end that has a lot of bitterness coming from the hops in an old school way. Aftertaste is rich with hop characteristics, especially the pine and grapefruit zest, along with a good deal of herbal bitterness and a nice balance of malt throughout. Overall, a nice and relatively old school IPA with a great herbal and floral layer that almost makes this seem like a hoppy saison at first, but the hops definitely drive through and clearly show that this is and old-school East Coast IPA. Good to sample as this is the first I've seen or heard of this brewery on the other side of the Potomac.
