2025: New location, opening soon.
Bad Beat Brewing opened in July 2014 by Nathan Hall born out of his love of poker and craft beer. Never one to shy away from a gamble, Nathan sold his house and spent every dollar in his bank account to fund his dream. A Bad Beat in the poker world means you’re the underdog and starting a craft brewery in Las Vegas is definitely against the odds.

22 oz. bottle shared by Willrunforbeer, thanks dawg!! Dark murky brown a moderate tan head that dissipates fast. Aroma is roasted coffee, chocolate, ash. The bitter chocolate is a little more noticeable in the flavor.
Body is on the lean side even for the gravity. Dry texture, lightly astringent, over extracted coffee. Not awful but it tastes like it is old. And of course no canning date.

Bottle. Clear golden amber color, white head. Aroma of herbs and citrus. Basil flavors don’t really integrate well with the rest of the beer, which has mostly fruity citrus.

12oz can pours with a gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up malts, citrus hops and some caramel like slightly butterscotch sweetness. The taste delivers a blend of grapefruit and pine hop bitterness with a sense of resiny notes. It quickly gets sweeter with malts and some caramel and a slightly distracting butterscotch sensation. Decent.

This brew pours a hazy straw color with a medium thin white head that burns away steadily to a film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of citrus, guava, yeast and doughy malt. The finish is mildly tart with a citrusy aftertaste. Decent overall.

32oz growler from King’s Convenience, pours with a dark chocolate colored body that supports a mocha to brown head of foam. The aroma offers up loads of rich dark roasted coffee goodness that’s grounded in an earthy coffee sensation as well as some malt sweetness. The taste has a great blend of sweet malts, burnt malts, dark roasted coffee and then some chocolate. It gets to be more burnt midway and into the finish but the maltiness that’s hanging around creates a pleasing balance. This is spot on 8.8% rich coffee infused stout goodness where there’s zero sense of the ABV. Nice offering.
