Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a semi-dark red to brown color with a small off-white to tan foamy head. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma had a lot of milk chocolate up front with some vanilla and roasted coffee beans. Some light lactose/creaminess in the background.
The flavor definitely leans towards the sweet side with the rich chocolate and caramel really taking the foreground. Some bitterness from a blend of coffee grounds to earthy hops slides in nicely. Sweet milk chocolate aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable sort of feel. Good carbonation and ABV.
Overall, definitely a sweet stout. I didnβt mind for me, and true sweet stout fans probably will like this.
