12 oz bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Pours a red-orange with a four finger head. Decent retention. Light and spicy grapefruit hops aroma. Taste is major citrus hops up front followed by oak and vanilla.

Re-rate 2/24/10: Bottle at a tasting. Thanks zvikar. Deep clear amber with a beige head. Aroma of piney and resinous hops, smoky hints, some cookie-ish malt and caramel notes. Flavor is mostly bitter, hoppy, oily and resinous with some alcohol, fruits and light malty sweetness. Full-bodied. 7/4/7/4/14=3.6

2007 bottle. Very dark amber color with a big and slowly-diminishing beige head. Juicy hoppy nose with lots of citrus and some pine and some malty, a bit cookie-ish, notes. Flavor is malty and sweet with caramel, biscuits, hints of bread and lots of hops, which are later getting intense, leading to a very bitter finish with some grapefruit and oranges and mild tongue-tickling alcohol notes. Body is quite full and the mouthfeel is oily. This one is nice! 8/4/7/4/15=3.8

Bottle. [ Courtesy of wetherel]. Unclear hazy medium orange amber color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, notes of milk chocolate, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus - grape, moderate oak, notes of vanilla. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. (Acrid bitter). Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft. (040408)

Woody fig and molasses, slightly vinous. Opaque brown with a medium yellow head. Woody bark, fig, and orange flavor. Charcoal finish. Outstanding balance, not overpowering, refreshing, and enjoyable.

Bottle. Good stuff. reminded me of a darker Dogfish 90min - but not as good. Extreme hops and definitely arrogant! i enjoy this beer and glad i tried it

[/i] [/b] Unusual farmy slightly sileage aroma to this (noticed very accurately by Loz) there is a wet sweet grass slightly decompsing aweay type quality to this aroma but then I suppose like Loz said its sileage! (not unpleasant though) Pours deep amber with a white creamy actually it might be a tan head. Soft and mellow tasting around the edges with the oak really taking away any bitterness. This beer is arrogant ok and it almost challenges you not to like it fortunately I did like it, I loved the vanilla, the hops and all, lovely beer and a great finish to a wonderful evening of top class beers, many thanks once again to Casey and Traci, by the way the food was lovely as well!

Bottle at Toms Glasgow tasting 2 ... Copper brown ... rich sweet complex barley wine like nose ... smooth sweet caramel malts ... light hop back bone ... suberbly balanced...
