Sampled on draft this beer poured a hazy apricot color with an enormous foamy white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet and tart with strong grapefruit and lemon and a bit of tropical fruits. The flavor was sweet and tangy grapefruit, lemon, tropical fruits and table sugar. Medium length sweet grapefruit and tropical fruit finish. Medium body and smooth. Very nice.

From the April 2013 3R6P beer tasting. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky yellow color with an enormous fluffy white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tart lemon, Sweettart candies, chalk and a bit of must. The flavor was dry, dusty, musty, yeasty, chalky and had light notes of citrus and Windex. Medium dry chalk, must, citrus and Windex finish. Medium body. Ok.

Trestle Inn, Philadelphia tap ($6): Pours a slightly clouded yellow with a white head. Aroma is funk and plenty of fruitiness. Taste is very substantial considering the low alcohol. Sweet and fruity notes are throughout. Nice funkiness and a good finish. This is a nice saison I never heard of.

22 oz bomber generously shared by beastiefanf2k. The pour is a slightly hazed golden, with a small white that leaves splotchy lacing. The aroma is soft citrus grain, a light earthy leather, and a general warm earth softness that is as all well integrated. The taste leads with the leather notes of the Brett, turning towards the citrus and grain, then the flavor gets floral toward the back. The palate is medium to light bodied, sparkly carbonation and a clean dry finish. Nice one, thanks for sharing Eugene.

22oz bomber split 3 ways. For the life of me I cannot remember where or when I got this bottle but I have been saving it for a little bit of time now, maybe close to a year. I wonder if that accounts for the difference between my score and the average. The beer pours with a slightly hazy golden color and a medium sized head. Aroma is dry and herbal with bitter floral aspects - to me this is all brett. Its very well done, lively and bright, loving it. Flavor is similar, a little more heft to it and a smidgen less brightness but very nice indeed. I think this is exceptionally executed and a 4.4 beer to boot. This is very similar to Beer Table Table Beer. Would love to drink this again.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky brown color with a small foamy dark tan head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweet nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The flavor was bitter with a bit of vinegar, moderate notes of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon and was lacing a malt base to subdue the spice. Medium dry spice finish. Undercarbonated, Disappointing.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep black hue with a small brown head. A light sweet nose of chocolate, vanilla and coffee. The flavor is sweet light cocoa, roast, vanilla, wood. Very easy. Very mellow but not terrible. Smooth and easy.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 12/30/12

Aroma: The nose has smoked, roasted, and burnt malts, and some mild earthy hop notes
Appearance: This one pours a dark brown-black color with a small brown head and minimal lace
Flavor: The taste is roasty and smokey, with some light meaty notes, and a mild hop bitterness
Palate: Medium-full bodied, fairly thick, has a soft-to-average carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a more then solid Rauchbier. They may not have made me say "Holy Shit!" or anything, but they hit the style on the mark, and made a good beer. I would have like to see more bacon considering the description, but overall, nicely done.

A very interesting beer. Aroma is honey sweetness and floral hops with very faint yeast. Medium to light body. Flavor is full of honey sweetness with floral and earthy hops, very sweet malt, and yeast tingles. Finish is round with light carbonation. Very interesting brew. Not hoppy enough for an IPA but way too sweet for a triple or saison. A pint is hard to finish but glad I tried it.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow-Downtown, 12/12/12

Aroma: The nose has caramel notes, earth, some citrus/grapefruit, and a little resin
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish-brown color with a small beige head, and some light drippy lace
Flavor: Similar to the nose and balanced, with a medium sweetness and a light-medium bitterness
Palate: It has a creamy feel, a medium body, average carbonation, and a clean, mildly dry finish
Overall Impression: Even though it is 12/12/12, I'm not drinking any Vertical Epics today, but that'll happen later (Vertical Epic Weekend!). As for this beer, this is plenty solid. Don't let the score fool you, 20 is the style? It is better then that! It is not nearly as dry as the explanation would have lead me to believe, but it has a nice balance and drinks well. Very solid stuff.
