Vintage 2023. Clear dark golden colour and no head. Very strong wood smoke aroma. Medium-bodied. Strong alcoholic flavors, smoke, sweetish malts. Rough.

Cloudy deep brown with a small ivory-coloured head of low to medium retenton. Dark malts, walnut, oak tannins, treacle, vanilla, esters, berry jam, some hop. Thick body. Warming alcohol. Light to medium sweet, light hop bitterness. Powerful stuff. Very good.

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Hazy golden, lively head. Piney nose. Mid sweet with light to medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Pine and honey. Fruity with some bread. Mid bitter finish.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour, no head; some very late awakening, tiny bubbles build a ring at the rim of the glass and disappear. Minimally alcoholic, nutty, caramel malty and minimally piney, herbal hoppy aroma, notes of caramel, some toffee, mint flavoured toffee. Taste is sweet, alcoholic, caramel malty, leafy, herbal and piney hoppy, notes of caramel, toffee, mint flavoured toffee, some treacle; warming, alcoholic finish with fruity hints of of plum wine.
Viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, scattered, soft to flat carbonation.
Condensed, sweet and alcoholic, not overly complex - some really flattering flavours, but somehow more sauce or liqueur than beer.
Could profitably be paired with vanilla ice or even be used as replacement for coffee liqueur - hardly to drink up without sharing.

Sweet aoma of caramel syrup. Dark brown color, very scarce foam. Taste is sweet beginning and bitter finish, some oaky notes. Although very sweet the texture is not sticky. Full body.

330ml bottle, many thanks to visionthing. Shared with Finn. The oily pour reveals a deep black body, bare naked surface, and scattered lacing. Attractive on the nose coffee, caramel, and rum. Quite similar solid taste profile; rum and chocolate-coffee joined by spices. Silky smooth ending with warmth from the alcohol. Well bodied. Pleasing slow sipper, rather sweet though.
