Description
Our passion for quality beer-making is as strong today as it was when our journey began. From the beginning of a home brewing project in the basement of founders Clayton and Kari Stenson – to twelve years later with the opening of Black Bridge Brewery in 2014 – our mission to create a better beer through artful attention to detail has always remained.
The name Black Bridge Brewery comes from the name of a small iron bridge a few kilometers south of Swift Current, in the rolling south west Saskatchewan prairies. The bridge is well known among residents of Swift Current and has long been the subject of myths, stories of hauntings, afternoons spent fishing in the Swift Current creek which flows beneath and countless wedding and family photo shoots.
Like the beer which has become its namesake, the bridge serves as a humble but beloved icon for those in the area, and one whose spirit is reflected in our values as down-to-earth, strong, honest and proud to represent Saskatchewan brewing.

Mooch tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy blond color, large head. The aroma is a bit spicy, coriander, but also cabbage. The mouthfeel is too dry and too much carbonated, alcohol is too evident, malt has no depth, and leaves too much space for off flavors such as vegetables, cabbage, onions.
Not my kind of beer.

Blonde and cloudy. Thin head. The aroma is quite yeasty, and with a dry hop character, and has a peppery top note. On the palate, the pale malts carry a nice character, again with dry herbal hops, and a fair bit of yeastiness.

Can - Caramel, toffee and some chocolate notes. Deep amber notes with a small rich white head. Tons of toffee and sweetness with just a touch of woody bitterness.

Can thanks to AJ. Pours a very dark brown leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is roast, licorice, cocoa. Slick, roast, dark chocolate, nice sweetness, very good.

355ml can shared with Blackhaddock in his man cave. Many thanks to Duffman for this. Pours cloudy orange with a thin whispy white head. Aroma is nicely hoppy. Taste is smooth with a piney citric bitterness, some caramel malt sweetness adding some balance. Nice flavoursome hoppy IPA.

355ml can, shared with minutemat on 5th Aug 2016. Hazy old gold pour, wispy white head. The nose was dominated by the hops: piney and fruity with a mild citrus aroma. The taste was also hop led with very little malt presence noticeable. So we are talking about a fairly bitter IPA here, something rarely seen here in the UK currently: made a pleasant change, liked it.

Medium dark amber color. Apricots, oats, pine grapefruit and lemon in the nose. Big malty backbone with tons of hops but never feels too big or over the top. Well balanced and rounded IPA. Excellent.

Nice for what they're going for. Mild hop aromas while being easy drinking. Well executed with no off flavours. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, long lasting, foamy, light brown head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, and a hint of licorice with a mildly bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth texture and soft carbonation. Pretty impressive offering from this new brewery.
