Corked bottle, vintage 2012, 14.7% ABV
delivered directly by the producer
Golden sunny color; there is a minimal sediment in the bottle. The aroma is quite flowery, honey, ash tree freshly cut, light impression of fig tree. Sweet fruity flavor (wild strawberries / smultron), sweet almonds, with a light breadish touch in the end; there is a very light final bitterness.
Quite good.

It comes with a long (Serrano?) pepper in the bottle; the color is pale yellow. It smells of pepper, fruity honey, with some dustiness, and denatured alcohol; strange but not bad; it vaguely reminds me of grappa. The mead is medium sweet apparently, with some honey flavor; to my palate, the hotness is acceptable, nevertheless it quite hides the qualities of the mead without adding complexity.
Interesting mead; I would rather regard this as cooking product, maybe to make a special sauce, even for desserts with some fruit juice or orange peel added; but as a drink, it’s not so necessary.
